Both songs have a count in. Since Love Me Tender is in 4/4, there is a 4 beat count in. The pitch given is the first pitch of the song. There is a pitch for the first 3 beats then blank on the fourth beat. Make sure you count in so you come in correctly.

 

Let Me Call You Sweetheart is similar.  The difference is that I give the first pitches separately (except for the bass... hmmm don't know why it is not there).  Well anyway... Since this is in 3/4, the count in has the first two beats then silence on the 3rd beat.  So, make sure you count in with the beats.  Basically the way it is layed out is 2 pitches are given.  These are the pitches for alto first then soprano (don't worry the piches are correct, the alto part starts on a higher pitch).  Listen to it a few times to get it.  After those two pitches there is a blank space then the pitched count in.  If you have any questions please e-mail me at mmakipuro@charter.net
